By Tim Glon
The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team was named a Scholar All-American Team for 2015-16 by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
The Polar Bears had a team GPA of 3.08 for the spring semester to qualify for the honor. In all, 658 teams representing 388 colleges and universities at the NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and NJCAA levels received the award.
To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the Spring semester. Top teams were recognized for both large teams (more than 22 women or 21 men) and small.
The Polar Bears posted an 8-2 overall record, won the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season title with a 5-0 record and won their 12th consecutive OAC Championships crown in 2015-16 under 12th-year head coach Peggy Ewald.
