Some summer Ada news items in bits and pieces
Some random Ada pieces of information.
What’s happening in Ada?
The Icon picked up the follow one-sentence news items earlier this week. Each is a story on its own. We’ll simply provide headline details for sake of brevity and hope that we can provide additional information as these stories develop:
• At least 6,000 youth visited ONU in the 10-week summer period. These range from band camps, to cheerleader camps to sport camps.
• COSI at Northern, formerly known as Northern on Main, will reopen sometime in August. It will include an outdoor patio area.
• The NFL says it will put chips in all its footballs.
• ONU marching band members return to campus Aug. 10.
• New ONU students move in to residence halls Aug. 18.
• Ada Community Engagement (ACE) day Aug. 20.
• An area Corvette club will be in Ada sometime in August. They will meet at The Inn at ONU.
• Harvest and Herb Festival update – all booths requiring electric are taken.
• Ada water tower will be repainted this summer. It will include the NLF logo with a message reading “Made in Ada (Wilson football logo). It should be a three-week project.
• Work on renovating the Ada’s caboose appears to be in the home stretch. The inside was painted and windows need to be installed.
• Ada chamber will hold a ribbon cutting for Ada’s newest future business “Crafted by Us,” on Aug. 17. The business hopes to open on Aug. 2 in the former Artist Boutique business located at 117 N. Main St.
