Football: Stingy Arlington defense too much for Bulldogs
By Dusty Donley
Intense pressure from the stingy Arlington defense slowed Ada's high octane offense last Friday night as the Red Devils invaded Ada's War Memorial Stadium and stole a 20-7 non-conference victory. The loss moves the Bulldogs to 1-1 on the season.

Arlington built a 14-0 halftime lead behind an Evan O'Rear 3 yard touchdown run and a 25 yard Matt Crawford to Caleb Price touchdown pass. The Red Devils struck again early in the third quarter when Gage Beck plunged in for a 3 yard score.
Under heavy pressure all night, Seth Conley and the Bulldog offense were finally able to find the end zone in the fourth when the junior quarterback hit Chase Sumner for an 18 yard score. Aaron Everhart's extra point made the score 20-7, and that's how it would end.
Behind 6 foot 5 inch, 243 pound defensive menace Logan Speyer, the Red Devils limited the Bulldogs to only 137 yards of total offense for the game. Ada finished with -24 yards on the ground, the result of 7 quarterback sacks from Speyer and the Red Devil defense.
Bulldog quarterback Seth Conley finished 15 of 37 for 161 yards passing and 1 touchdown. Trent Jolliff led the receivers with 6 catches for 63 yards. Chase Sumner added 6 receptions for 61 yards and a score.
Ada goes on the road next Saturday to take on former Northwest Conference rival LCC. The Thunderbirds (0-2) are coming off a 35-7 drubbing at the hands of Delphos St. John's. Game time is 4:30 at Lima Stadium.
