Doris M. Cotsamire, 83, died on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016 at 11:50 a.m. at St. Rita's Hospice, Lima.

She was born on June 19, 1933, in Auglaize County, Ohio, to Florenz and Persis (Schultz) Clausing who preceded her in death. Doris and her husband, Harold, married on July 3, 1955, and recently celebrated 61 years of marriage,

Harold survives in Ada.

Doris retired from Ada Elementary School after teaching for 27 years as a kindergarten and first grade teacher. She was a member of the Ada First United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women and Dorcas Circle. She was a NOMADS volunteer performing mission work projects of the Methodist Church for 17 years.

She was a 1951 graduate of Harrod High School and a 1955 graduate of The Ohio State University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Education.

Doris was a member of the Hardin County Retired Teachers and the Ada Senior Citizens and a former member of the Hix & Chix Square Dance Club and the Ada Clef Club.

Also surviving are her children: Douglas (Ron Roman) Cotsamire of Oak Park, Ill., and Diane (Jeff) Hood of Van Wert; a son-in-law, Dan (Molly) Wagner of Kenton; four grandchildren: Matt (Molly) Wagner of Strasburg, Shelly (Nick) Wyllie of Franklin, Tenn., Natalie Hood of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Jacob Hood of UAE; two great grandchildren: Mason Wagner and Aidan Wyllie; and a brother, Robert Clausing of Oak Ridge, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Wagner, in 1997 and a sister-in-law, Julie Clausing.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, Sept. 25, at 1:30 p.m. at the Ada First United Methodist Church,  301 N. Main St., Ada, with Pastor Mary Jo Yeakel officiating. Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ada First United Methodist Church Endowment Fund or the Clausing/Cotsamire Scholarship Fund at Ohio Northern University, Ada.
