What did you take home from the Wilson garage sale?
By Monty Siekerman
They come from all around for the bargains at the Wilson garage sale.
More than 300 people were in line at 8 a.m. on Saturday, waiting in the parking lot of the football factory so they could be among the first to go through bin after bin of sports equipment.
Some buy for their grandkids' birthdays or Christmas, others to resell on the internet for a tidy profit. Some actually buy Wilson-labeled equipment to play a sport.
One lady had enough baseball bats and balls to start her own league.
People hauled trash bag after trash bag full of footballs, of course, but also all manner of golf, soccer, baseball products, whatever the company makes at its factories worldwide.
The garage sale only happens once a year, on a Saturday for just four hours. Now, the sale is over for another year, time to make a list for 2017.
