Meet Amy Geiger - Ada's newest police officer
By Monty Siekerman
Amy Geiger is the new cop in town. She has a lot of experience, having served the Spencerville Police Department for 11 years, working up to sergeant there.
She enjoys police work, especially meeting people and the unpredictability of the job.
She and her husband, Donavin, are the parents of four children. Her husband is a deputy with the Allen County sheriff's office.
Amy has been active in a lot of activities for youth, including Scouting, coaching, and band as well as church.
Patrolman Geiger is a graduate of the Police Academy and works a 40-hour week. During her first two weeks on the job, she has been involved with business and house checks, street patrol, calls for service, and assisting the rescue squad.
During her time in Ada, she has observed that the business community is vibrant, there are no "poor" sections of town, and that the university is beneficial to the village.
