Junior Civic League gets library renewal levy update
Ada Junior Civic League
The October meeting of the Ada JCL was hosted by Myra Berger and Linda Staley at the Ada Visiting Nurse with eight members present. The meeting was called to order by President Linda Ferguson.
The speakers for the evening included Amanda Bennett and Connie Fleming from the Ada Public Library. Amanda thanked the club for our donation towards the summer reading program’s, she then spoke about the 5-year renewal levy for the library.
The second speaker for the night was Jami Dellifield who is the Family and Consumer Sciences Educator for the Hardin County Extension Office. Jami spoke to the club about all the programs that are offered through the SPARK Lab, 4-H sewing projects and about her Blanketing Hardin County Program. Jami also spoke to the group about mental health in recognition of Monday, Oct. 10 being Mental Health Day.
Several of the members took blanket material to make blankets for this program. After the speakers the club completed their monthly meeting. Bev Romick reported that the pecans will arrive in early November and the cost will be $8 a bag.
Phyllis Griffith reported that the club will host Crock Pot Tuesday on Oct. 18 at Restore, the meal for the evening will be Homemade Beef Vegetable Soup, Slider Sandwiches, Apple Sauce and Cupcakes for Dessert.
The next meeting of the JCL will be held on Nov. 14, at Linda Ferguson. The speaker is Anita Morgan and she will speak about Elder Fraud.
