Art exhibit and fundraiser Saturday at Alger Public Library
Friends of the Alger Public Library (L-R) Marissa Osborne, President; Lydia Osborne, Secretary; Jane Wilcox, Treasurer; Kathy Herfurth, Library Director) display the trophies and ribbons for winners and participants in the second annual SECOND EXPRESSION, a juried art exhibition and fundraiser for Hardin County Artists and the Alger Public Library held Saturday, Nov. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m.
SECOND EXPRESSION was inspired by the financial need of the Alger Public Library and the desire to provide visibility and income opportunity for the artists in Hardin County.
All artwork is created using old or unwanted printed materials, giving a SECOND EXPRESSION to the long life and usefulness of the printed word.
Artwork ranging from $50-$200 will be available for purchase throughout the evening. All proceeds from each sale are divided 50/50 between the local artist and the Alger Public Library.
"We encourage folks to get together with their business associates, extended families, clubs or social groups to make an investment in Hardin County and the Alger Public Library, said Marissa Osborne, president of the Friends.
"Come enjoy a spectacular evening with community friends, unique pieces of art, choral music."
Guest speakers are Brice Beaman, Hardin County Commissioner,
Jon Cross, President and CEO of Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance and Von Summa, mayor of Alger.
Awards presentation and entertainment will begin at 6 p.m.
