The Village gives thanks…
This Thanksgiving, we are saying thank you to all those who volunteer and work hard to improve our community. Without the help of many, Ada would not be what it is.
Residents are served throughout the year by the volunteer work of the Ada Tree Commissioners, Planning Commissioners and Board of Zoning Appeals members. These individuals serve on the referenced commissions and boards on their own time, and continually work to improve the appearance and health of the community.
The Ada Tree Commission is fortunate to receive project volunteer help throughout the year, as well. In 2016, commissioners received volunteer help from participants in the HOBY program, ONU’s ACE Day of Service, and the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Without the help from these volunteers, the Ada Tree Commission would not be able to effectively tackle the task of trimming trees on public right of way.
Our community and village has also been fortunate to have the assistance of members of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce. Members of the Chamber volunteer to decorate the Railroad Park and Depot for the Christmas holiday, and make the Village a festive place to be during holidays throughout the year. Many volunteer civic groups, such as the Kiwanis and Rotary clubs, also work in collaboration with the Chamber and the Village to make our community better.
Please remember to visit and support your local businesses on Small Business Saturday, November 26th! Our local businesses are owned and run by our neighbors, and often are the ones who give the most of their time for community improvement. Show them you appreciate their role in our community by shopping in their retail, banking, and eating establishments.
In order to thank our employees by giving them time to spend with their families, the Village Offices and Ada Police Department lobby will be closed Thursday and Friday. Should you need assistance, please call the Ada Police Department at 419-634-0010 and choose option 2 to be directed to the Hardin County Sherriff dispatch service.
We wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
