Leah A Staley 1917 - 2017
Leah A. Staley, age 99, died on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at 1:21 a.m. at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.
She was born on October 28, 1917 in Allen County, Ohio to Emmett and Grace (McClure) Hall who preceded her in death. On July 4, 1939 she married Warren “Buck” Staley and he died on May 4, 2002.
Leah was a homemaker and had previously worked for Clemons Bakery of Lima for seven years. She then worked for Allen County Home for seven years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of LaFayette.
She is survived by her two children: Byron (Jane) Staley of Ruskin, FL and Anita (Joe) Fetter of Waynesfield; six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and seventeen great-great grandchildren.
Leah was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Hall; and three sisters: Audrey Shaw, Bonnie Stoodt and Jean Long.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Reverend Dr. David Gerber officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Chapel Cemetery, LaFayette.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the LaFayette Fire & Rescue Squads.
