Bluffton Hospital opens Pelvic Pain Center
Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) has officially opened the Pelvic Pain Center part of The Women’s Center of Bluffton Hospital, a new expansion and renovation project.
The Pelvic Pain Center is located in the hospital at at 139 Garau St.
“The team at the Pelvic Pain Center is made up of highly experienced specialists who will evaluate patient’s symptoms and develop an individualized treatment plan to eliminate or reduce pain,” explained Chris Keller, chief administrative officer, Bluffton Hospital.
Specialists have experience caring for patients with:
• chronic pelvic inflammatory disease,
• endometriosis, fibroids,
• hernias,
• musculoskeletal causes of pelvic pain,
• ovarian cysts,
• painful bladder syndrome,
• pelvic adhesions,
• pelvic floor muscle tension,
• pelvic organ prolapse and
• psychological factors.
The Pelvic Pain Center will provide integrated clinical care for pelvic pain.
The provider will first explore non-surgical treatments to alleviate pelvic pain. However, if surgery is deemed the best treatment option, the facility offers laparoscopic and robot-assisted procedures. These approaches are known to reduce pain, scarring and recovery time.
“Blanchard Valley Health System is proud to provide these services to the Bluffton community. The opening of the Pelvic Pain Center will continue our commitment to quality care,” said Keller.
The Women’s Center of Bluffton Hospital will continue to add services throughout 2017. These services include robotic-assisted gynecological surgeries, a second location of the Beyond MedSpa, cosmetic surgery and an expansion of existing services in obstetrics and ancillary testing.
