Irene Guyton 1935 - 2017
Irene Guyton, age 81, died on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 3:24 pm at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima, Ohio.
She was born on June 14, 1935 in McGuffey, Ohio to Troy and Bessie (Morris) England who preceded her in death. Eunice was formerly married to Russell C. Schwickert and he is deceased. On August 5, 1974 she married Gary E. Guyton and he survives in Ada.
Eunice was a retired school teacher and care giver. She taught 3rd grade at Alger Elementary School; she also taught at St. Matthew’s Catholic School in Connecticut and at Shawnee Elmwood. She was a former member of the Ada VFW Post #9381 Women’s Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son: Russell (Kathryn) Schwickert of Fredericksburg, Virginia; 3 daughters: Kathleen Truchsess of Ada, Christine (Donald) Sommer of Ada and Leslie Hutson of Ada; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; a brother: Earnest (Becky) England of Ada and 2 sisters: Louise Paglow of Lima, Ohio and Barbara (Monroe) Johnson of West Virginia.
Irene was preceded in death by a brother, Robert England.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 23, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Rev. Calvin Waugh officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger, Ohio.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, May 22, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St, Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
