Fewer bumps in the road on the way
By Monty Siekerman
For Ada travelers, there will be fewer bumps in the road (if only life were that way).
Bluffton Paving Company will set up shop on Wednesday to pave several streets. Four areas of roadway will be milled, then repaved.
There will be no parking posted from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. on the soon-to-be improved streets. The work will be accomplished in only three days, weather permitting.
Here's what scheduled for improvement:
Northeast corner---
* East Montfort from Johnson to Simon
East Montford from Simon to Liberty
Northwest corner---
* North Gilbert from Montfort to Turner
Turner from Main to Gilbert
Heistand Avenue from Montford north to the alley
West Street from Montford to Turner
Southeast corner---
* Hays Avenue from a Main to Beech
Syracuse Street from Hays to the south end
* All of Beech Street
Southwest corner---
Union Street from College to Lima Ave.
West Dobbins from Main to Gilbert
Most of these streets were last paved between 15 and 20 years ago. Some alley work will be done in the northwest and southeast corners.
Streets with an asterisk will be milled and paved. Milling is removing the old pavement then repaving.
