S.A.F.E.R Academy for Youth set for June 19-23
The Ada Police Department, in conjunction with the ReStore lunch program, will conduct a S.A.F.E.R. Academy for Youth this June at Ada War Memorial Park.
The event is open to children ages 5-17 (parents with young children welcome too) and is intended to provide an overview of the many different agencies involved in the public safety field.
It will be held daily from 10 a.m. until noon the week of June 19-23 prior to the ReStore lunch program.
Each day will feature different organizations and exhibits.
Representatives from several organizations that will demonstrate and explain the services they provide to the community. The goal is to create awareness and foster a strong relationship among youth and first responders.
Presentations will be made by Ada Police officers and K-9 Team as well as visits from the BCI Crime Scene Unit, Ada/Liberty Fire and EMS, Life Flight, Ohio DNR Game Protectors, Johnny Appleseed Metro Park Rangers, the Lima/Allen County Regional Bomb Squad and The Hardin County Sheriffs Office K-9, Tactical and Communication Units.
