Ada, Arizona? Nope, Ada, Ohio

Not all cactus grow in Arizona, some are hardy, as shown in this photo taken on the first day of summer at the Pilger home in the 400 block of North Gilbert Street. The many bright yellow blooms of a cactus plant are from a start that was given to Bob Pilger 20 years ago. The starts have since spread and provide a mass of color by the front door this time of year.
