Five Polar Bears named Academic All-OAC in football
Five Ohio Northern student/athletes were named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in football for 2012 in voting conducted by the league's 10 faculty advisors.
Senior Cullen Zelachowski, juniors Josh Bryan and Mike King and sophomores David Woolley and Sean Wolf were named Academic All-OAC.
Zelachowski is a three-year regular and a two year starter on the offensive line and is majoring in civil engineering.
A versatile player, Zelachowski started all 10 games this season and played four different positions. He started three times at left tackle, four times at left guard, once at right guard and twice at right tackle.
After playing on the freshman team in 2009, he played in 31 of 32 games in his last three seasons as a Polar Bear.
Bryan played in all 10 games as a defensive back and on special teams.
A civil engineering major, he finished the season with six tackles.
King is a two-year starter and three-year regular on the defensive line and is majoring in social studies and education.
He started all 10 games this season at defensive tackle and had 25 tackles, two sacks and seven tackles for loss.
He will enter his senior season with 67 career tackles, three sacks and 9.5 TFL.
Woolley appeared in one game at linebacker for the Polar Bears this season.
He had a pair of tackles against Marietta and is majoring in civil engineering.
Wolf started nine games at tight end this season and is majoring in pharmacy.
A two-year letterman, Wolf finished the 2012 campaign with three receptions for 22 yards.
The Polar Bears finished 4-6 overall and were sixth in the OAC with a 4-5 record this season under ninth-year head coach Dean Paul.
