Lots of muscle and dinosaurs at County Line Church of Brethren car show
Story and photos by Monty Siekerman
Did you ever see a dinosaur at a car show?
Some of the cars at the County Line Church of the Brethren on Saturday dated back to 1929, but not to the age of the Giant Monsters. However, Bryan Counts of Spencerville is really into dinosaurs as is evident on the inside and outside of his 1977 Ford.
His was among 60 vehicles on display at the church's annual car show, where you could also eat one of 300 chicken dinners and have a piece of homemade pie for $8. The kids enjoyed the playground equipment.
Most cars came from small towns around Ada and Bluffton, including Lafayette, Harrod, Alger, Rawson, and Elida.
Here's a small smattering of the cars on display:
• His and hers. Del Henry with 1979 Ford Li'l Red Express Truck, next to his wife Jo Ann's 1966 Ford Econoline. The Henrys live northwest of Ada.
• Alex Nichelson, Ada, 2005 Subaru. Only 113 were ever produced.
• Rich McCoy, Bluffton, 1989 Chevy Corvette.
• Dave and Karen Meeker, of Lafayette, 1929 Ford Pickup.
• Daryl Amstutz, Pandora, 1971 Judge clone
