Freedom School at ONU
Dr. Adriane Thompson-Bradshaw, ONU vice president of student services, serves as guest reader for Freedom School harambee on Friday at the ONU Chapel. Freedom School is held for six weeks during the summer in Lima for children in kindergarten through 8th grade. The group takes field trips on Fridays, so this week 60 youngsters from the Freedom School were at Ohio Northern. The school teaches children about healthy living, self esteem and provides art activities and sports for the participants. Literacy skills is also a main goal. The school is sponsored by community organizations such as churches, Lima Schools, and Bradfield Community Center.
