They got down and got dirty
Story and photos by Monty Siekerman
Mud volleyball was a big deal at Ada War Memorial Park on Saturday when 15 teams from throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania got down and got dirty for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo.
Over $6,000 was raised by the tournament and auction to help with awareness of Down Syndrome and to benefit 400 families in northwest Ohio that connect to the Toledo area organization.
Ada has no chapter, but the tourney and fundraising effort has been held at the Ada Park's tractor pull area for the past several years. To start a chapter in Ada call Brad or Rena Eaton at 419-731-3908. More information can be found on the website http://dsagt.org.

Down Syndrome is not a disease, but a genetic chromosome 21 disorder causing developmental and intellectual delay.
The Greater Toledo chapter has no membership fee. Everyone is welcome to get information, education, and resources throughout the year.
