Mustangs win NWC golf meet

LIMA – Allen East won a three-team Northwest Conference golf match Wednesday in a tiebreaker at Colonial Golf Club.
AE and Columbus Grove tied with 198 strokes, but the Mustangs won when their fifth man shot 56 compared to 57 by CG. Ada finished third with 249 strokes.
Brevin Sizemore led the Bulldogs with a score of 55. Teammate Alex Morgan was close behind with a total of 57. Austin Amburgey carded a 68 while Rob Allison posted a 69.
Ethan Hull shot 71 and Jake Colwell added a total of 76.
Mustang Grant Whitley was match medalist with a score of 40. AE's Nick Phllips shot 51, Brandon Crumrine 52 and Luke Brinkman 55. Mustang Carter Frey shot a 56 as fifth man to nose out Zach Roberts of Grove with 57 and win the tiebreaker.
With the defeats, Ada fell to 1-11 overall and remained winless in league play.
The Bulldog linksters host an NWC quad match Thursday, August 24 at Bluffton with the Pirates, Delphos Jefferson and Grove.
