Richard the Rooster lives!

Richard the Rooster lives!
He was spotted today (Tuesday) in the 500 block of South Johnson where he has taken up residence since July.
The fancy click is alert, fast running, and high flying, which helps him escape predators. He survived Thanksgiving....turkeys are the favorite food then. He has weathered wind, snow, and cold the past couple of weeks.
Richard the Rooster just goes about his usual morning routine, pecking at grass in front yards for food, and keeping a mindful eye out for predators and photographers.
Will he survive the winter?
The rooster was upstaged last week when police and passersby chased after a calf on Main Street in the heart of town. The young cow escaped from a truck headed through town on the way to an auction. Who knows how to lasso anymore? The calf was trapped in a fenced in backyard, roped, taken back to the truck, and last seen headed south out of town.
Roosters, calves, what next? Deer, bear....for years, there have been rumors of black panthers in the area.
