Bulldog grapplers 3rd at Panther Invite; Sumner MVP

ROCKFORD - Ada senior Chase Sumner won the 145-pound bracket and most valuable wrestler titles at the Parkway Invitational Saturday, leading the Bulldog grapplers to a solid third-place finish at the 12-team event Saturday.
Sumner went 4-0 to improve his record to 14-0 this season, and was voted by the coaches as tourney MVP. He also won the same honor at the Lincolnview Invite Dec. 9.
Parkway won the event with 199.5 points, followed by second-place Spencerville with 164 points. The Bulldogs took third with 150, followed by Delphos St. John's (122.5) and Hicksville (104).
Ada freshman Colton Biederman finished second in the 106 lbs. division for the second conseuctive tournament. Senior Xander White ended up second in the 182 lb. bracket.
Carson Hissong came in a strong third at the 160 lb. division. Senior Adam Bailey also finished third in the 285 lb. heavyweight class.
Ada sophomore Reece Evans finished fifth at 152 lbs.
