Ada wears maroon and silver for a day
By Monty Siekerman
It was maroon and silver rather than purple and gold at Ada Schools on Tuesday.

Students and staff were asked to wear the school colors of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in memory of the 17 students and teachers who died there at the hands of a gunman last week.
Gatekeepers, the newly-organized local chapter of the American Mental Health Alliance, asked those who would be at Ada Schools on Tuesday to wear the Parkland, Fla., school colors in memory of those who died and in honor of those who survived.
Silver and maroon aren’t easily found in Ada clothing closets, while purple, gold, orange, and black are the local colors of preference.
But, a number of students and staff did dig out the Parkland colors and wore them in Tuesday.
