Michael W Purdy, 1948 - 2018
Michael W. Purdy, age 69, died on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 5:19 a.m. at his residence in Dunkirk, Ohio.
He was born on October 16, 1948 in Bluffton, Ohio to the late William Franklin and Helen Louise (Woodruff) Purdy. On November 8, 1969 Michael married Brenda L. Mankey and she survives in Dunkirk.
Michael was the Director of Worldwide Operations for Rockwell Arvin/Meritor, Kenton. He was a member of the Lima First Assembly of God Church. He served for six years in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of the Lima Eagles Post #370 and a member of the former Masonic Lodge F&AM of Dunkirk.
Michael is also survived by his son, Matthew W. (Brandi) Purdy of Dunkirk; two grandsons: Hunter and Holden; and three brothers: Ronald (Janet) Purdy of Findlay, Thomas (Sharon) Purdy of Dola and Robert (Paula) Purdy of Dunkirk.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jason T. Purdy and brother, Paul Purdy.
Memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, at Lima First Assembly of God Church, 1660 Findlay Road (State Route 81), Lima, Ohio 45801 with Pastor Keith Wilson officiating. A graveside service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
