How many boxes did you buy?
By Monty Siekerman
More than 2,000 boxes of cookies sold.
It’s Girl Scout cookie time, and if you haven’t ordered any, you are out of luck this year. Sometimes the youngsters have extra cookies to sell in front of Four Seasons or at McIntosh Center, but this year the girls have sold them all: an incredible 2,008 boxes.
So, if you see some Adaites gaining a few pounds in the next couple of weeks, blame it on the successful cookie sale.
The Girl Scout leaders point out that the girls just aren’t selling cookies. They say a portion of the proceeds goes back to the troops for activities and outings. They say it’s an investment in the girls’ future.
The sweets are sold by members of the Daisy troop, who are in kindergarten and first grade, and Brownies, second and third graders.
