Lucie Anna Shepherd, 1918 - 2018
Lucie Anna Shepherd, age 99, died on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 1:29 p.m. at Lima Convalescent Home.
She was born on April 4, 1918 in Pyramid, Kentucky to the late Peter and Emiline (Hicks) Moore. On February 14, 1934 Lucie married George Shepherd and he died on March 20, 1979.
Lucie was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church, Alger.
Also surviving is one son, Ivory Shepherd of Cridersville; a daughter, Barbara (Paul) Bender of Lima; twelve grandchildren and forty-four great grandchildren and twenty-five great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild; two brothers: Denver Moore of Harrod and Columbus Moore of Harrod.
She was preceded in death by three sons: Eugene, George Jr. and Gordon Shepherd; six brothers: Robert, Andy, Emery, Glen, Jerry and Clovis Moore; and four sisters: Josie Day, Fannie Shepherd, Pearlie Nichols and Ocie Allen.
Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Rev. Lewis Hicks officiating. Burial will be in McDonald-Fairview Cemetery, Kenton.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
