Ada netters edge Roughriders
ADA - The Ada boys tennis team won its twice-delayed season opener at home 3-2 over St. Marys on a chilly Friday evening at the park courts.
The Bulldogs improved to 1-0 with the hard-fought win. Ada swept all three singles matches to grab the victory.
Senior Zach Beaschler and junior Cade Mullins each won handily in straight sets at first and second singles, respectively.
Freshman Miranda Wills rallied at third singles to win the final two sets, including 7-5 in the third, to provide the team margin of victory in her debut.
"We are off to a great start with the first win under our belts," said head coach Christy Beaschler. "We got a gutsy performance by Miranda Wills to come back and win a three-set match to give the Bulldogs the win."

2nd: Cade Mullins (A) def. C.J. Vanderhorst 6-3, 6-2
