Richards top collegian in Arizona race
TEMPE, Ariz. — Senior Emily Richards (Delaware/Hayes) represented the No. 5-ranked Ohio Northern women's track and field team at the 39th Annual Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Arizona on Saturday evening.
Richards competed in the premier section of the 800-meter run and entered the race as the top collegian in the event across all divisions.
The senior did not disappoint in the race, finishing second overall and posting the top collegiate finish in 2:02.84.
Her time bested her nation-leading time from last weekend's Raleigh Relays and improved it by nearly half a second. Richards' time also hit the United States Track & Field qualifying mark in the event.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday as they travel to Delaware to compete in the All-Ohio Championships.
