Arbor Day art winners
Mayor Dave Retterer gave books, tokens, and certificates to Arbor Day art winners during an Arbor Day celebration at the Ada Schools on Friday. The mayor personally sponsors the art contest to encourage learning about trees and their care. He hand picks the winners, telling why the best drawings were chosen, and explains why he selected the books to give. This year’s concentration was on insects that are destructive to trees. See the big bug on the right, hovering over everyone?
This year’s winners are (from left) Callie Burgess, first: Alana Hastings, second; TJ Griffith, third; Kenley Poling, honorable mention. Tyler Stauffer received honorable mention, as well, but was absent.
