2 ONU pole vaulters highly ranked
Akron -- ONU junior Maddy Reed (Piketon) and sophomore Maggie Krause (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) posted a pair of top-5 vaults nationally as they competed at the Campbell/Wright Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Akron.
Team scores were not kept at the meet.
Reed's mark of 13' 1.75" moves into third place nationally in the event. She finished first among Div. III athletes in the event.
Krause, the second place finisher among Division III athletes, posted a new career-best vault with a leap of 12' 8.75". Her mark ranks fifth best nationally in the event among Division III competitors.
The Polar Bears are scheduled to return to action from May 10-11 as they compete in the Dr. Keeler Invitational hosted by North Central (Ill.).
