Molinaro, Boyd do well at invitational
NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Seniors Matt Molinaro (Sterling Heights, Mich./DeLaSalle) and Samuel Boyd (Killbuck/West Holmes) each competed on day two of the Gregory Invitational hosted by North Central (Ill.) to lead the Ohio Northern men's outdoor track and field team on Thursday afternoon.
No team scores were kept in the meet.
Molinaro paced the duo, winning the 800-meter run in 1:50.91. The senior currently holds the fourth best time nationally following the completion of ONU's regular season.
Boyd finished sixth overall in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and moved into 28th place nationally in the event, finishing in a season-best 9:14.48.
Northern will await to see the final qualifying lists for next weekends Div. III National Championships in LaCrosse, Wisconsin from May 24-26.
