About 1,000 youth soccer players participated in a tournament at Ohio Northern on Saturday and Sunday. The Extreme Soccer Club of Sidney sponsored the tourney in two age groups, 9 and under and 18 and under. Players came from throughout Ohio and neighboring states.

When you have 75 teams in a soccer tourney, you have a big crowd of parents, relatives, and friends watching. The tourney took place near Dial-Roberson Stadium, stretching in the grassy area along Klingler Road from Lincoln Avenue to Lima Avenue. Parking in the field near the three turbines was used in addition to the paved lots near the stadium.

Many canopies were set up along Klingler Road on Saturday and Sunday for a large youth soccer tourney. The canopies provided a place for spectators to call home during the two-day competition. The set ups provided protection from sun and heat and offered a place for chairs and coolers.
