Alice A. Lawrence, 1929-2012
Services for Alice A. Lawrence will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home in Alger by Rev. Calvin Waugh. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.There will be no visitation.
She died at 11:47 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at her residence in Alger.
She was born Feb. 26, 1929 in Hardin County to John E. and Anna (Brinkley) Farrar and they preceded her in death. She married Joseph W. Lawrence on Nov. 26, 1946 and he died Aug. 8, 1992.
Surviving are a daughter, Judith (James Bailey) Hicks of Alger; two grandchildren, Missy (Jim) Beltz of Kenton and Kelly Dean Hicks of Alger; two great-grandchildren, Jessika (Nathaniel Stinson) Beltz and Zak Beltz, both of Kenton; a great-great-granddaughter, Jozet N. Stinson of Kenton; and a brother, Dale Farrar of San Diego, Calif.
She was preceded in death by an infant son; a sister, Eunice Tidd; and three brothers, Edward, Roy and Ben Farrar.
Alice retired from North Electric in Kenton.
She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary 46 of Kenton and a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary 8832 of Roundhead. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary Military Order of Purple Heart, Kenton. Also was a past oracle of Royal Neighbors of America Camp 8971, a member of the Ada Senior Citizens and Hardin County Humane Society.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hardin County Hospice and/or Hardin County Humane Society, both of Kenton. Condolences may be expressed at hansonneely.com.
