Senior's Alison Steinbrunner and Vicki Moga each posted top five national marks to lead the Ohio Northern women's indoor track & field team at the Joe Banks Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.

ONU won the event with 165 points, while Otterbein was second with 123 points and John Carroll was third with 103.5 points.

Moga posted a second place finish in the high jump, clearing 5-6.00. That leap now ties her for the third highest in the nation.

Steinbrunner broke the ONU school record in the 1 mile run, finishing in 4:58.55, which places her second in the country.

Sophomore Catie Huber, junior Brooke Larsen and junior Erin Radigan brought home fourth, fifth and sixth place finishes in the 1-mile as well.

In the 3,000 run, senior Lydia Weaver finished first in 10:24.08 and freshman Aya Tomozawa was fourth, with a time of 11:15.25.

The Polar Bears had three of the top five finshers in the 1,000 run.

Junior Laura Avino won the race in 3:16.38, while junior Kayti Kintner was third and freshman Rebekah McCutchen was fourth with times of 3:20.45 and 3:21.08 respectively.

The 4x200 relay team of senior Jordan Buchanan, sophomores Shannon Hageman and Gabrielle Metzner and freshman Kristine Wagner posted a second place finish in 1:50.72.

Wagner also was second in the long jump, jumping 16-07.25.

Buchanan also finished fifth in the 400 dash in 1:04.53.

Metzner also brought home a third place finish in the 60 meter hurdles, posting a time of 9.59 seconds.

Sophomore Paige Waugh finished second the in triple jump and junior Emily Blum was third with jumps of 32-4.75 and 31-7.25 respectively.

Sophomore Sarah Ballmer was fourth in the pole vault, with a vault of 9-6.25.

In the 5,000 run, freshman Kara Sosinski finished second in 19:12.44 and sophomore Samantha Hoffman was third in 19:34.06.

"Today was a great day for us," said head coach Jason Maus. "We were competitive in numerous events and really performed strongly. This will give us momentum heading into next week."

Ohio Northern will return to action again on Saturday (2/9) when it travels to the All-Ohio meet at Otterbein.
