Ada golfers earn first win in league quadrangular

BLUFFTON - Ada defeated Crestview in a four-team golf match of Northwest Conference rivals at the Bluffton Golf Course Thursday.
Co-host Bluffton finished first with 183 strokes, followed by Columbus Grove (196), Ada (215) and Crestview (223).
"The boys accomplished their team goal (shooting 220 or less) for the first time this season," said head coach Jason Campbell. "Now they know they can do it. This should roll into the rest of the season."
Ada was paced by junior ace Alex Morgan, who shot a nine-hole score of 47. Sophomore teammate Brevin Sizemore posted a 51.
Senior Rob Allison registered a personal career-best total of 58, while Bulldog junior Ethan Hull carded a 59.
Senior Austin Amburgey shot 62 and classmate Jake Colwell added a 65.
Pirate Cole Koenig took match medalist honors with a nine-hole score of 40. Bluffton improved to 3-0 in the NWC with the win, while Grove is 2-1 and Crestview is 0-3 in league play.
Ada (1-5, 1-2 NWC) visits Arlington Monday, August 13 for a non-league dual match at the Sycamore Springs golf course. Play tees off at 4:30 p.m.
