Mary Gossard was retired Upper Scioto Valley teacher
Mary D. Gossard, 89, died at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 30, 2013, at Otterbein Retirement Community, Cridersville.
She was born Dec. 28, 1923, in Ivel, Ky., to Stonewall J. and Anna Stratton Neeley, who preceded her in death. On April 26, 1945, she married Garfield E. Gossard, who died April 15, 1994.
Mrs. Gossard began her teaching career at Roundhead schools and retired from Upper Scioto Valley schools.
Survivors include two daughters, Patsy McColloch and Karen Quatman; two grandchildren, Vanessa Damshroder and Cameron Quatman; and three great-grandchildren, Georgianna, Elle and Kennedy.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott McColloch; and two brothers, Lawrence and Lewis Neeley.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger. Chaplain Lynn Huffman will officiate. Burial will be in Roundhead Cemetery.
The family will be offering refreshments to friends and family to celebrate her life one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
