Harvest and Herb Fest' next up on Ada's fall calendar
The next big event on Ada's calendar is the 33rd annual Ada Area Chamber of Commerce's Harvest and Herb Festival in downtown Ada, according to Deb Curlis, chamber director.
This year’s festival is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 15. As in past year’s, it will fill Ada’s Main Street from Highland to College.
The festival has 180 spaces available for vendors and so far over 130 spaces are signed-up. Crafters are encouraged to register as soon as possible to insure a booth.
Booths are 12 feet wide by 8 feet deep and are available while they last.
New vendors are invited to participate and all questions and request for booth space may be e-mailed to: [email protected].
Activities take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the depot park. At noon Ada's mayor, David Retterer, will wecome everyone. The Ada VFW color guard will raise the flag. Noteworthy Community Choir, directed by Vickie Mills, will perform the National Anthem.
Following the opening ceremonies the 2018 Harvest and Herb Festival queen will be announced.
Here's the festival schedule:
9-4 p.m. - Booths open on Main Street
10 a.m. - Parade on Main Street
11 a.m. - Games for kids open at the Depot park
Noon - Welcome from Mayor Retterer, VFW 9381 color guard, National Anthem
12:30 p.m. - Crowning of 2018 festival queen
1 p.m. - Drummunity with Lori Fithian (sponsored by Ada Public Library)
2 p.m. - Andrew Martin the Magician
3 p.m. - Twiisted Creations by Pat

Participants are invited to join the Harvest and Herb Festival parade. The parade forms at 9 a.m. in the Ada schools parking lot and starts at 10 a.m.
