Ada linksters second in NWC tri

The Ada golf team won a fifth-man tiebreaker to beat Crestiew in a Northwest Conference tri-match Tuesday evening.
Columbus Grove won the match with a total of 175 strokes. Ada and the Knights tied at 208 strokes.
But Ada fifth man Rob Allison shot a 64 to nip the fifth Knight by a single stroke, providing the margin of victory. Will Sharpe and Scott Bowman each shot 65 to tie as fifth man on the Crestview squad.
Ethan Hull posted his career-low for the second straight day, shooting a 46 to pace Ada. Austin Amburgey and Alex Morgan each carded a 53. Brevin Sizemore shot a 56.
Owen Macke of Grove was match medalist with a score of 41.
Ada improved to 2-11 in the NWC and 5-20 overall with the split. CG is 18-9 and 9-7 in the NWC, while Crestview dropped to 0-12 in the NWC and 2-16 overall.
Ada plays at Leipsic Thursday, September 13.
