A large crowd was on hand for the 33rd annual Ada Harvest and Herb Fest on Saturday. Good weather, a record number of vendors, the crowning of a queen, a parade and family-friendly entertainment drew many people to Ada’s Main Street from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Almost magically, everyone was packed up, the street sweeper had done its job, and SR 235 was open to traffic by 5 p.m.

The morning began with pleasant temperatures but the mercury reached 85 degrees before all was said and done. The 150 vendors were ready to sell their wares by 9 a.m. Churches, service clubs, and other nonprofits were on hand to offer invitations to join, sell cookies and books, and meet and greet their neighbors.

ONU Family Day traditionally is held on the village’s H&H Fest weekend, bringing many parents and siblings of university students to downtown to shop, buy funnel cakes, play games, purchase mums, and watch the entertainment.

By days’s end, civic leaders were pleased with the turnout and organization of the Ada Chamber of Commerce event. Soon, planning will begin for next year’s Fest.
