Bernard N Shaw, 1928 - 2018
Bernard N. Shaw, age 90, died on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 6:54 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born on September 2, 1928 in Auglaize County, Ohio to the late Byron and Ilo (King) Shaw. On May 23, 1948 Bernard married Lois M. Johnson and she survives in Alger.
Bernard retired from Green & Sawyer of Lima, where he was a truck driver and he also farmed. He was a member of the Maysville United Methodist Church. He was a member of the former Royal Neighbors of Alger.
Also surviving are two sons: Terry (Sigrid) Shaw of Albuquerque, NM and Alan (Lisa) Shaw of Harrod; three daughters: Mary (Charles) Melvin of Carleton, MI, Cheryl Saunders of White River Junction, VT and Sandra (Jimmy) Decker of Alger; fifteen grandchildren: Crystal Melvin, Kimberly (Michael) Robertson, Angela (Carlos) Reyes, Eric (Christine) Shaw, Teresa (Steven) Quick, Kerry (Michelle) Shaw, Ruth Saunders, Luke (Celia) Saunders, Leah (Robert) Crane, Elisabeth (Ahmad) Williams, Jamie Saunders, Sarah Decker, Jessica Decker, Jacob Shaw and Tyler Shaw; twenty-one great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a sister, Cleo Gossard of Harrod; three sisters-in-law: Carole Tong of Ada, Carolyn Shaw of Bluffton and Helen Shaw of Harrod; and a brother-in-law, James Johnson of Uniopolis.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Wayne Saunders; and five brothers: LeRoy, Leo, Charles, Wilbur and Robert Shaw.
A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, at Maysville United Methodist Church, Maysville with Pastor Charles Fuerstenau officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Maysville United Methodist Church and/or Vancrest of Ada.
