Wanted: Salvation Army Red Kettle bell rings
By Monty Siekerman
The Salvation Army in Hardin County is looking for volunteers to ring the bells for the annual Red Kettle drive in Ada. If interested, contact Kathy Reese at 419-889-1845 or e-mail her at [email protected].
Bell ringers are needed from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. on five Saturdays beginning on Nov. 24 and ending on Dec. 22 at Community Market. They are needed at Quest Credit Union and Liberty National Bank from 2-6 p.m. Fridays, Nov. 23-Dec. 21.
Bell ringers may work in pairs, if they wish. Individuals, students, families, service clubs, church groups, student groups are all encouraged to help. Volunteers are asked to sign up for two-hour slots.
Eighty percent of the donations remain in Hardin County for the less fortunate. Started in 1891, the red kettle was used in San Francisco to collect money to feed the less fortunate at Christmas. Today the Salvation Army annually assists more than 4.5 million people.
