It's on Ada's 2019 calendar
By Monty Siekerman
Reporters aren’t the best prognosticators, so here’s what is planned for Ada in 2019:
* Willeke Avenue will be completed from Ankerman Street to South Johnson. The Village expects to award bids in the spring.
* The Municipal Building will receive a complete renovation for village offices and the police department. Also, an elevator will be installed.
* The Engineering Building will open in the fall, a new major building on campus.
* An IT Building is under construction and will be opened in 2019. It will combine five IT offices now operating in various locations on campus.
* The Park Board has awarded contracts for a complete redo of the electrical service in the grove area at War Memorial Park. This will benefit the many people who use the park’s shelter houses and those who plan festivals and events in the park.
* Ada has many annual events, festivals, and parades, some dating back more than a century. Expect to see and enjoy them again in 2019. Service club members and other community-minded residents again will pitch-in to make Ada a better place. The relationship of the university and village is a good one, that will continue.
Happy New Year!
