He's an "All-Star" coach - we already knew that
Legendary Ohio Northern men's basketball coach Joe Campoli will serve as one of the coaches for the Reese's National Association of Basketball Coaches Division III College All-Star Game on Saturday, March 16.
Campoli will join former Elizabethtown (Pa.) coach Bob Schlosser as the coaches of the two teams, made up of Division III seniors from across the country.
The all-star game will be played prior to the NCAA Division III Championship game at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Campoli led the Polar Bears to the 1993 NCAA Division III title in his first season as head coach and to the 2001 Final Four.
In 17 seasons as head coach at ONU, Campoli's teams posted a 254-101 record and was the Division III National Coach of the Year in 1993 and 2001.
Campoli and his 1993 ONU championship team were inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011.
In all, Campoli coached basketball at Ohio Northern for 30 seasons, serving as assistant coach for ONU great Gale Daugherty from 1980-1992.
