Both ONU lacrosse teams traveled to North Carolina for spring tune-ups last week. Here’s a report on their week.

Men’s team
BREVARD, N.C. — The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse program toppled NCAA Division III foe Brevard (N.C.) 15-8 at Ives-Lemel Field Saturday, concluding an undefeated Spring Break road trip to North Carolina.

With the victory, the Polar Bears improve to 4-1 overall this season. In addition, they conclude their annual Spring Break trip with a 3-0 record after defeating Guilford (N.C.) 6-4 and Pfeiffer (N.C.) 22-8 earlier this week.

Meanwhile, the Tornados move to 2-4 in 2019 after dropping their past three contests.

Ohio Northern out-shot Brevard 68-25 overall, which included a 37-17 edge in shots on goal. The Polar Bears also caused 11 turnovers, picked up 55 ground balls, and ended 17-for-18 on clear attempts in the weekend contest.

ONU will return to action next Saturday, March 16 with a road contest at Alfred (N.Y.). Game time is set for 1 p.m.

Women
GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Ohio Northern women's lacrosse program broke its single-game scoring record Friday afternoon, ending their 2019 Spring Break trip with a resounding 19-2 victory over Greensboro (N.C.) at Pride Field.

The Polar Bears' 19 goals surpassed the previous program-best mark of 18 goals set on three separate occasions, including this season's 18-3 victory over Hiram on February 27. In addition, the 17-goal triumph is now the largest margin of victory in program history.

With the victory, the Polar Bears improve to 2-2 overall and finish 1-1 on this season's Spring Break trip. Meanwhile, the Pride drop to 0-2 in 2019.

Junior goalkeeper Kelli Hill (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) totaled eight saves en route to her second win in net this season.

Ohio Northern will now break from action until next Thursday, March 14 when Albion (Mich.) visits Ada for a nonconference showdown. Game time is set for 7 p.m. inside Dial-Roberson Stadium.
