4 from ONU on all-academic squad
Four athletes from the Ohio Northern men's basketball team have been named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference for the 2018-19 season.
Seniors Sean Grady (Willowick/Eastlake North) and Austin Wurm (Bloomville/Buckeye Central) and juniors Caleb Bryan (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) and Wes Davenport (Downers Grove, Ill./South) all received the honor.
The award winners must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50.
Grady is now a three-time Academic All-OAC honoree and is majoring in accounting.
This season, he appeared in 12 games as a point guard, averaging 13.4 minutes and 1.5 points per game in a reserve role.
He played in 37 career games and scored 38 career points.
Wurm played in nine games with one start this season, scoring 17 points and grabbing seven rebounds.
He is now a two-time Academic All-OAC honoree at guard and is majoring in in civil engineering.
Bryan played in all 25 games with two starts this season, averaging 7.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.
He is making his second appearance on the Academic All-Conference squad and is majoring in civil engineering.
Davenport played in two games this season, registering five minutes of playing time.
He is making his first appearance on the Academic All-OAC squad.
The Polar Bears posted a 7-18 record this season under third-year head coach Rich Bensman.
