Linda M. Stephens was retired from Logan County Sheiriff's Office
Linda M. Stephens, 65, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at 6:40 a.m. at her residence in Belle Center.
She was born on May 7, 1953, in Lima, Ohio to Myron and Ora E. (Allen) Harpster. Her father Myron Harpster and her mother Ora E. Joyce preceded her in death. On March 9, 1970, Linda married Joseph P. Stephens and he survives in Belle Center.
Linda retired from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office after working for 19 years as a dietary supervisor. She enjoyed cooking and baking pies. She also enjoyed flower gardening and fishing.
Also surviving are two sons: John (Patsy) Stephens of Kenton and Jeff Stephens of Mt. Victory; a daughter, Jaime Stevens of Belle Center; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; five sisters: Sally Cozad of Kenton, Myra (Doug) Risner of Belle Center, Francis Kay Gilbert of Ada, Joyce (Gary) Rostorfer of Harrod and Karen (Bob) Metzger of Theodosia, Mo.; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph P. Stephens II, on Aug. 29, 2013.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 29, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Doug Risner officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger, and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita’s Hospice, Lima.
