ONU grad designs set for "A Midsummer Night's Dream"
FROM ONU DEPT. OF ART AND DESIGN FACEBOOK - Ohio Northern University graduate Jill Davis (BFA/art ’94) has designed the set for “A Midsummer Night's Dream” by William Shakespeare that opened this month at the Chautauqua Theater Company.
Jill is currently an associate professor and the resident scenic and lighting designer in the department of Theatre at Case Western Reserve University.
Prior to her appointment, she has a number of years of experience in scenic design and scenic painting in professional theater.
She also was the scenic artist for the many Ohio Northern theater productions including Godspell, Pippin, Valguse Poik, Diary of Anne Frank, Six Women with Brain Death, Oklahoma!, Forever Plaid, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Nunsense, Sexual Perversity in Chicago, The King and I, Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?, and Pump Boys and Dinettes.
She received her MFA in scenic design from Temple University in 1999.
CTC’s free outdoor Shakespeare production returns with this magical, midsummer comedy. Theater goers follow jealous lovers, mischievous fairies, and first time players as they journey through the woods. Love potions, live music, and physical comedy enchant in this energetic 90-minute version of Shakespeare’s most beloved play.
Located in New York, the Chautauqua Theater Company is a resident professional theater and conservatory of the Chautauqua Institution.
