Bud Denega named ONU assistant SID

Bud Denega was named the Assistant Sports Information Director at Ohio Northern University. Denega will work within the ONU athletics department while pursuing a degree in sport administration at Bowling Green State University this fall.
Denega comes to Ada from Sheridan, Wyo., where he spent the last 21 months as the sports reporter/editor at The Sheridan Press. In his time there, Denega covered four high schools and one junior college and collected Wyoming Press Association awards for feature writing, sports news writing and column writing.
Denega has spent a total of five years in the newspaper business. He started his career at the Minot Daily News in North Dakota covering high school and collegiate sports. After an 18-month stint in Minot, Denega moved to Texas where he worked for the Laredo Morning Times for one year where he, once again, covered high school and collegiate sports.
Denega grew up in Berea and attended college at the University of Wyoming where he attained a dual degree in journalism and geography.
He will serve in his new role at Northern until the spring of 2021, coinciding with the completion of his studies at BGSU.
