Wells, Swaney, Ferguson top finishers for Ada

VAN WERT - The Ada cross country team competed in the Van Wert Invitational meet Saturday.
The Bulldog boys finished 12th in the 12-team meet. Ottawa-Glandorf (61 points) nosed out Shawnee (65) for the team title.
Lincolnview finished third with 79 points, followed by Parkway (119), Van Wert (123), Crestview (147), Elida (178), Ottoville (213), Bluffton (217), Paulding (251), Allen East (274) and Ada (350).
Bulldog senior Hunter Wells ended up 77th in a field of 150 runners to register the top Ada finish. Sophomore Seth Swaney came in 87th to finish second for the Bulldogs.
Sophomore Riley Ferguson was third for the Bulldogs and 117th overall. Freshman Connor Daugherty ran fourth for the purple and gold and finished right behind Ferguson in 118th.
Keegan Giddens was the fifth and final Ada scorer, finishing 122nd. Xander Wells ran sixth and came in 133rd.
Kyle Roth of Parkway won the individual race with a time of 16:57.2.

Ada runs next at the Bath Invitational Tuesday, Sept. 24. The Bulldog harriers then compete at the Kalida Invitational Saturday morning, September 28.
