St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 4443  Township Road 25, Ada, installed John Nagel as its full-time pastor on Oct. 5.

He and his wife, Victoria, recently moved to Ada from Marion, and have become active members of the Ada community.

The installation service included prayer, commitment, and a special song "Scars," sung by Pastor Nagel. This song had special meaning to him and the congregation since he had been in a head-on collision in 2016 and was very seriously injured and still has many scars.

According to members of the congregation, "This close brush with death has given him a real enthusiasm and appreciation for life and has made him a very excellent minister of the gospel."

The Installation Service was followed by a reception in the annex.
